MAX Fat tyre baskets replace standard tyre baskets and fit tyres up to 127 mm (5-inches) wide. They come in a set of two and include mounting bolts, hardware, and four long rubber straps. With this upgrade, VelociRAX MAX hitch racks are the perfect bike rack for fat tyre bikes and fat tyre electric bikes up to 45 kg (100 lbs). These can be used on any size of our hitch racks, so anyone can be a fattie. With the ability to modify your VelociRAX for all seasons, nothing can stop you from getting out to ride!
Only use fat tyre baskets with fat tyre bikes– they will NOT work with standard mountain bike tyres. Standard tyre baskets can carry tyre widths 76 mm (3-inches) and smaller.
Tech Tip: When strapping down fat tyres, pre-stretch straps before you pull across the rim. In cold weather, rubber straps may be harder to stretch due to a decrease in elasticity.

-When attaching fat tire baskets to a VelociRAX with 10-inch spacing, such as the VelociRAX 5, VelociRAX 6, and VelociRAX 7, stagger larger tire baskets. VelociRAX 412, VelociRAX 3X, and VelociRAX 5X hitch racks have 12 to 15 inch spacing, which is a comfortable setup for fat tire bikes to sit next to each other. These racks have the ability to load various bike sizes without strategic placement, which means these racks can be loaded with all fat tire bikes.
